The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The 17 SDGs are integrated: they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in other areas and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
In September 2016, Costa Rica became the FIRST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD to sign a National Pact for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, it has much to celebrate and, at the same time, a great responsibility.
The country lays the foundations for the construction of a collective commitment that will drive the necessary transformations to achieve inclusive, environmentally sustainable development that guarantees the closing of human rights gaps.
We at Grupo Ingesa are committed to 5 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals:
Let us all assume with responsibility this great commitment for our country and for the world!
